Lille owner Gérard Lopez has admitted he expects Gabriel Magalhaes to make a decision on his future this week.
Everton had made progress in talks over the potential signing of the centre-back before the coronavirus pandemic, and are still looking to strengthen that area of the pitch this summer.
The 22-year-old has attracted the interest of some of Europe's top clubs with his strong performances for the Ligue 1 club, and they are consigned to losing the Brazilian.
And Lille's owner believes that the defender will choose his future club this week.
Lopez told L'Equipe [via SportWitness ]: "We have other offers on other players, but we haven’t spoken to their players.
"With Gabriel, we are talking and we’ve given him an exit pass. He will choose his club this week”.
