Lille name price for Gabriel Magalhaes and more Manchester United transfer rumours

Lille will demand £27million from Manchester United in order to sign defender Gabriel Magalhaes - according to reports.

The 22-year-old has been heavily linked with a switch to the Premier League on the back of a solid campaign in Ligue 1.

Magalhaes has reportedly attracted interest from Arsenal, Chelsea and Everton with United also been mentioned as a potential suitor.

MEN Sport previously reported that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was content with his options at the back but the United boss refused to rule out signing a defender prior to the Europa League win against LASK.

French outlet La Voix du Nord claim United are interested in Magalhaes and Lille are willing to sell their star defender if their £27m valuation is met.

However, the same report claims Arsenal are currently leading the race for his signature as the Brazilian has indicated his preference would be a move to the Emirates.

Elsewhere, reports claim United entertained the idea of signing Nathan Ake from Bournemouth but ultimately opted against firming up their interest.

The Athletic report the Reds had made contact with the Cherries over the Dutchman but decided that he was not the player they needed in the summer window.

United reportedly felt they did not need another ball-playing defender and are prioritising a more physically imposing centre-back who is capable of dealing with counter-attacks and long balls almost single-handedly.

Ake became Manchester City's second major signing of the summer earlier this week for a fee of £41m.
