Lille manager issues Nicolas Pepe transfer update amid Manchester United speculation

Lille manager Christophe Galtier has confirmed Nicolas Pepe will leave the club this summer.

The Ivorian winger has been in sensational form for Lille this year and was a key figure in their qualification for next season's Champions League.

Pepe has netted 21 goals and notched 13 assists for the French side this season, form which has naturally seen him linked with a whole host of teams ahead of the summer transfer window.

Manchester United, Arsenal and Bayern Munich have all been linked with a move for the 23-year-old in the coming weeks, and they will no doubt be on high alert following his manager's latest comments.

Speaking after the final match of the season on Saturday, Galtier confirmed Pepe will leave the club following his breakthrough season but warned the player to think carefully before selecting his next destination.

“Nicolas Pepe will leave," Galtier told Canal+.

“Life’s like that, football’s like that today.

“He is a player of the highest level who will have a big decision to make on the choice of his next club.

“There will be a battle between the great European teams.

“I hope that he will take good amount of time to think about it, do his research.

“Like he did when he came here and when he decided to stay here [last summer], find the right project.”
