Gabriel Magalhaes has been left out of Lille's squad for their first game of the new season.
Lille host Rennes tomorrow in their season opener, meanwhile Gabriel continues to be linked with an exit.
The Brazilian centre-back is close to joining Arsenal, according to recent reports.
Whether that is true remains to be seen, but to add fuel to the fire, Gabriel has now been left out of Lille's squad to face Rennes.
The 22-year-old's name is absent from the 19-man list and it's unclear why.
Of course, the Brazilian may have picked up an injury, or he could be missing for a number of reasons.
But his absence will, no doubt, put the rumour mill into overdrive with both Arsenal and Manchester United said to be interested.
Gabriel has three years remaining on his contract at Lille having only penned a new one earlier this year.
Though, that hasn't stopped him from becoming one of the most-talked-about defenders during this window.
Rumours suggest he could be on his way to the Emirates Stadium on a deal worth £22m.
And providing he is not already injured, there's no risk of that deal being scuppered from a fresh injury blow in week one of the Ligue 1 season.
