Lille coach reacts to Celtic draw as Christophe Galtier hails Europa League 'snatched point'

Christophe Galtier felt his Lille side dominated Celtic but admits they "snatched" a Europa League point.

The Premiership champions took a 2-0 lead in France as Moi Elyounoussi struck twice in the first half.

The hosts rallied after the break though and took a deserved point that leaves them second in the group ahead of a double-header against Milan.

Galtier admitted: "We had a poor first half, we lacked rhythm and didn’t move the ball quickly enough.

"The ball was being circulated with no tempo and we couldn’t move the Scottish block.

"We made some big mistakes on the goals, it wasn’t good enough.

"I told the players at half-time this wasn’t the real Lille, that this was the first time we were down by two goals and that you have to be better in Europe.

"After the break the team played much higher up the pitch, in the opposition half.

"We pinned the Scots into their own third, we started to dominate and create chances.

"We knew the game would change after the first goal and I really appreciate the reaction I got.

"The team showed character and their real face in the second half.

"It’s a point gained when you’re 2-0 down at the break. Given the circumstances we snatched this point from them."
