'Like watching the wrestling' - How the internet reacted to Bristol City defender Jack Hunt's viral push at Brentford

Bristol City's draw with Brentford last night was a game that may not live long in the memory.

The Robins secured a point in the 1-1 draw thanks to Andreas Weimann's late header, but it was a rather tentative performance from them overall.

However, one moment of note set the internet alight, with Robins right-back Jack Hunt involved in a coming together with Brentford's Sergi Canos.

Both players were booked for the exchange, which saw Hunt send Canos flying over an advertisement hoarding.

Videos of the clash garnered over 3,600 retweets on different twitter pages and attracted plenty of comment.

Here's some of the best reaction on Twitter and Reddit, with Robins fans delighted to see their player engaging in a no-nonsense attitude.

Lee Bristol: He's the man.

Chris Jones: Love my club.

Paul Marshall: Did any of the crowd see if the player was okay, or were they too busy shouting for a red?!

Cameron Phipps: My right-back over yours.

Kenneth Zohore, not: My man disappears!

Callum: Man needs to hit the gym.

Prosser: Look at the fans react as soon as he retaliated, but like nothing happened at the beginning.

Jon Moger: Goes down like a sack of potatoes. Needs to hit the gym!

Andrew King: I hate to be boring, but that’s actually really decent refereeing.

Tim Wild: Hunt booked for the shove, Canos booked for going over like a fairy.

Tristan Cork: The best bit about this is the Brentford fans’ reactions.

Sam: Very clever from Hunt, goes to use his hands, knows he’ll get a red, barges him into orbit. Class.

Ryan: Guy tried barging him, didn't even move him and then gets pushed flying over.

Nick: Watched this 2746479292 times on repeat.

Alfie: That is the best video I've ever seen.

Slavic Bhoy: Hey watch out for the guy who fiercely removed his hat! He's dangerous!

Red157: Never been more proud.

Asdgdjghg: Just stay down mate. Stay down and start army-crawling towards the tunnel, as long as you don't lift your head up above the advertising hoardings you don't have to face what just happened.

Relax It's Just A Comment: I've always hated that players can get away with purposely pushing someone when the ball has just gone out of play - hopefully the player has learned not to do that anymore.

Resident Hater: In front of the home fans? The absolute mad lad.
