Manchester United fans have praised Anthony Martial for his quickfire response after his side went a goal down to Aston Villa in the League Cup on Thursday night.
Ollie Watkins had put the visitors ahead three minutes after the break through a quick attack from the Villans. But United responded just 19 seconds after the restart with Bruno Fernandes sliding in Martial for his fourth goal of the season.
Martial was starting his first game since coming off in last month’s 2-1 win over Everton. The attacker has missed 16 matches due to three separate injuries this season, his last knock being a back problem.

But despite playing just six games, the Frenchman has made six goal contributions this season, which include two assists. Martial came off just after the hour mark against Villa as he was replaced by Alejandro Garnacho.
United fans recognised his impact on the side amid his omission from France's World Cup squad. Some on Twitter hailed the forward for his contributions, with a number suggesting he is the leading attacking threat at the club.
