Like It Never Happened by Emily Adrian – review

So, Rebecca Rivers is an aspiring actress. A pretty good actress too, in fact she’s the best out of the Essential Five. But she has a reputation and a not so great history. The fact that she’s a teacher’s pet doesn’t help her situation, especially when she might be in love with him.

Now, this isn’t a gross and inappropriate book about a girl falling for her teacher; it’s more about the betrayal of her friends. Despite their close relationships, could it all just be one big act?

Rebecca has a past with Tess, one of the Essential Five, that was quite striking, but I thought it tied in with the story really well. Rebecca’s unstable sister returns, who is actually quite stable now and has her life together. Rebecca didn’t want to turn out like her runaway sister, but could it be that she’ll turn out worse?

LIke it never happened

I quite enjoyed this book, more than I’d admit. With actors, it’s hard to tell if they are being real or playing a character; I found it difficult to trust all the other characters, so I didn’t really like them as much as the author told me to. This probably took the shock away from the ending, but the lead up was much more momentous.
