Candlelit gatherings are taking place in Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide, Darwin, Hobart and Perth to urge action on the humanitarian crisis and to remember Aylan Kurdi, the Turkish boy who drowned last week. The vigils around the country echoed the scenes in February 2014 when similar gatherings were held for Reza Barati, an Iranian man who died following violent scenes at the Manus Island detention centre.

If you are taking part in the candlelit vigils around the country, we’d like to hear from you. Share your photos and videos with us.

You can share your candlelit vigil pictures, videos and stories by clicking on the ‘Contribute’ button on this article. You can also use the GuardianWitness smartphone app or the Guardian app and search for ‘GuardianWitness assignments’.
