Lights go out on Real Madrid as stars warm up in the dark after powercut at Real Valladolid

Real Madrid’s game away to Real Valladolid is in doubt due to problems with the electricity at the Jose Zorrilla stadium.

All of the lights inside the ground went off around 19:30 and the club used a generator to illuminate one side of the stadium.

In the meantime, players were forced to get changed in the dark, while fans in the bathrooms used their phones in order to see what they were doing.

The lights later went off again and staff at the stadium are now working hard to fix the problem in time for kick-off.

The two teams were out to warm up in semi-darkness a little while ago, but some of the lights are now back on.

Valladolid’s home game against Barcelona back in August was also problematic, due to the poor state of the new playing surface at the Jose Zorrilla.
