TAMPA, Fla. _ The Flyers were on the verge of sweeping Florida road games for the first time since 2011 Wednesday night, but Tampa Bay ruined their Thanksgiving Eve.
Alex Killorn and Ryan Callahan scored 12 seconds apart late in the third period, enabling the Lightning to erase a 2-1 deficit and en route to a 4-2 win over the stunned Flyers at Amalie Arena.
Ivan Provorov, the Flyers' coming-of-age rookie defenseman, scored the first goal of his young career and added an assist.
But it wasn't enough as Tampa improved to 8-1-1 in home games against the Flyers since 2010-11.
With 12:49 left in the third, Provorov was injured blocking Tyler Johnson's power-play shot with his right knee. He was prone on the ice for, then tried to crawl toward the net before play was finally called.
He was helped off the ice and took a seat on the bench. About three minutes later, he returned to the ice and helped the Flyers successfully kill their sixth penalty in seven chances.
Killorn tied it at 2 with 6:32 left, knocking in a rebound that caromed off the backboards. Twelve seconds later, after a Flyers turnover, Callahan tapped in a pass from Brayden Point.
Nikita Kucherov made it 4-2 with 1:15 left.
The Flyers are now 4-1-1 in the second part of back-to-back games. They are 3-3 in the opening games.
Taking a slick pass from Matt Read, Provorov, 19, scored from the left circle to put the Flyers ahead, 2-1, with 54.7 seconds remaining in the second period.
After managing just two shots in the opening period, the Flyers had 22 in the second, the most allowed by the Lightning in any period this season.
Dale Weise, stopped on a breakaway in the first period, tied the game on a much more innocent chance with 13:54 left in the second period.
Weise, on a nice set up by Chris VandeVelde, scored from the right circle on a shot that bounced off the glove of the usually flawless Andrei Vasilevskiy, who had his scoreless streak snapped at 178:02 _ almost three full games.
"I was trying to place it maybe top-glove; it wasn't as high as I wanted, but it just kind of overpowered him," Weise said.
It was Weiss' second goal in two games; he had been scoreless in his first 15 games with the Flyers.
"I can't tell you the relief I feel," he said after ending his drought in Tuesday's 3-1 win in Florida.
The Flyers' penalty kill and Steve Mason excelled before giving up a power-play goal with three seconds left in the first period.
Defenseman Victor Hedman scored on a point drive _ eight seconds after Mason had turned aside Ondrej Palat's point-blank chance. The Lightning kept the puck in the zone and set up Hedman, whose drive may have deflected off a Flyers defender in front.
The Flyers were close to killing off their third penalty in the period _ this one for too many men on the ice _ before Hedman's long-range goal.
Tampa had a 12-2 shots domination in the first period, but the Flyers had a great chance to take the lead. A slick passing play from Nick Cousins and Travis Konecny sent Weise in on a breakaway. Vasilevskiy, however, made a right pad save to keep the game scoreless with a little over six minutes left in the first.
Five days earlier, Vasilevskiy made 32 saves as the Bolts blanked the Flyers, 3-0, at the Wells Fargo Center. He entered the night leading the NHL with a 1.43 goals-against average and .953 save percentage in seven appearances and had outplayed Ben Bishop, Tampa's No. 1 goalie.
