NEW YORK _ It was ugly, the sort of performance that brings changes to a team. The Islanders fell behind the Lightning quickly Tuesday night and did little to stop the onslaught in a 6-1 loss at Barclays Center that dropped the Isles to 4-6-0 on the season.
Nikita Kucherov scored two power-play goals in the first 12:18 of the game, Steven Stamkos added a goal 1:16 later to knock Thomas Greiss from the Isles net and Tampa Bay poured it on the second, scoring three times on Jaro Halak before Dennis Seidenberg snapped the shutout with 29.6 seconds remaining in the second.
The Islanders were outshot 30-12 over the first two periods and 36-27 for the game.
