Global investment institution Lighthouse Canton has announced the launch of its third private credit fund in India, the LC Luminere Credit Fund, aiming to capitalise on the country’s fast-growing private credit market.
The SEBI-registered Category II Alternative Investment Fund (AIF) is targeting a corpus of Rs 1,200 crore (around $130 million), including a greenshoe option, and will have a tenure of six years with an average deal duration of approximately three years.
The fund will focus on structured credit investments in mid-to-large corporates, with an emphasis on delivering stable cash yields and attractive risk-adjusted returns.
The launch comes at a time when India’s private credit market is witnessing strong momentum, driven by a structural gap in credit supply, tighter regulations for traditional lenders, and rising demand for non-dilutive capital among mid-sized enterprises.
The fund aims to address this opportunity through senior secured lending strategies backed by robust collateral.
According to the firm, the LC Luminere Credit Fund will deploy capital across a range of opportunities, including growth financing, acquisitions, refinancing, sponsor-backed deals, and select cross-border transactions.
The strategy is centred on investing in high-quality companies with strong governance standards, established leadership, and proven operating track records.
Commenting on the launch, Sanket Sinha, Managing Director & CEO, Global Asset Management, Lighthouse Canton, said, “India is entering a pivotal phase of private credit expansion, supported by strong macro fundamentals and a widening gap between credit demand and supply. LC Luminere Credit Fund is designed to deliver consistent, risk-adjusted returns by focusing on fundamentally strong businesses and disciplined credit underwriting.”
Highlighting the fund’s investment approach, Pranob Gupta, Managing Director and Business Head – India Alternatives, Lighthouse Canton, added that the strategy will focus on capital preservation, strong structuring, and deep sponsor diligence. “We aim to provide investors access to institutional-grade private credit opportunities while offering borrowers flexible, non-dilutive capital solutions,” he said.
The fund is backed by a dedicated investment team with a track record of deploying over $2 billion in structured debt and special situations across leading financial institutions.
Leveraging its extensive origination network—spanning over 500 issuer relationships and more than 1,000 promoter families—the firm has already warehoused its first investment and built a robust near-term pipeline across sectors such as industrials, conglomerates, and consumer businesses.
Lighthouse Canton, which manages over $5 billion in assets globally, operates across key financial hubs including Singapore, Dubai, India, and London, offering wealth and asset management solutions to institutional and private clients.
