Light heavyweight prospect Dalton Rosta has his sights set on an opponent and date for his second professional fight.
At Bellator 231, Rosta (1-0 MMA, 1-0 BMMA) will take on Ahmed Samir Hefny (1-1 MMA, 0-0 BMMA) on the prelims, a promotion official told MMA Junkie on Thursday.
Bellator 231 takes place Oct. 25 as the first leg of back-to-back events at Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Conn.
At Bellator 219 in March, Rosta made his Bellator debut after a 7-0 record as an amateur and never having gone to the judges’ decision. The Pennsylvania-based light heavyweight continued his success in his pro debut, when he defeated Cody Vidal by first-round TKO due to a knee injury.
A former champion of the Ring of Combat promotion, Hefny has split his two professional fights to date. After he secured the ROC title with an 11-second knockout in September 2017, Hefny lost to Kevin Sears at MMA Pro League 1 in September 2018.
The Egyptian was scheduled to face Steve Mowry at Bellator 215 in February but pulled out due to injury.
Bellator 231 is headlined by a rematch between former UFC heavyweight champion Frank Mir (18-13 MMA, 0-2 BMMA) and “The Ultimate Fighter 10” winner Roy Nelson (23-17 MMA, 1-3 BMMA)
The up-to-date Bellator 231 lineup is as follows:
- Frank Mir vs. Roy Nelson
- Ed Ruth vs. Jason Jackson
- Jake Hager vs. Anthony Garrett
- Bec Rawlings vs. Ilara Joanne
- Steve Mowry vs. Gokhan Saricam
