Awards that will honour the top business executives working in the North East will also single out one individual for a lifetime achievement prize.
The North East Business Executive Awards will take place at Newcastle’s Boiler Shop on November 13, with prizes awarded for the top business executive in Tyneside and Northumberland; Durham, Sunderland and South Tyneside; and Teesside; with an overall winner selected from them.
A prize for young business person of the year will also be awarded on the night, while the event will culminate with a lifetime achievement award that over the years has celebrated some of the biggest names in the region’s business community.
Last year the prize was won by Irene Lucas, who combined a stellar career in local and national government with her work as chair of Sunderland’s Hays Travel. The award is sponsored by accountancy firm RSM.

The North East Business Executive awards – which are one of the biggest events in the North East business calendar – have been run by The Journal and our sister paper The Gazette for more than three decades, shining a light on the region’s brightest and most inspiring business leaders.
This year’s event is sponsored by Newcastle law firm Muckle LLP, Narrative, Newcastle University Business School and RSM.
An expert panel of judges has chosen those being shortlisted for the awards, which will be presented by Alexis Conran, host of BBC show The Real Hustle.
