Two new public access defibrillators have been installed in Bothwell and Uddingston.
The first, bought thanks to local man John Anderson in memory of his wife Iris, has been situated at the back door within the car park of Da Luciano's restaurant in Silverwells Crescent, Bothwell.
The second, which was donated to the community from Taylor Wimpey after the completion of their Tannochside Gardens development last year, has now been installed within a heated cabinet at Uddingston Bowling and Tennis Club on the town's Old Glasgow Road.
Now, once full COVID restrictions are lifted, the Bothwell and Uddingston Community First Responders Team are set to offer training to members of the public in how to use the life saving equipment.
In the meantime, however, both pieces of apparatus come with full instructions on the wall and once opened the defibrillator will talk to users and explain what to do.

Community fundraiser Allan Stewart, who runs the Bothwell and Uddinngston Community Forum and Action Group, is delighted to have been able to assist in providing the defibrillators in the the Lanarkshire village and town.
He told Lanarkshire Live : "There has been several instances over the last year when a defibrillator would have helped people within our community but at those points in time there were none available for use.
"Now we are delighted to have two, one each within Bothwell and Uddingston, should they ever be needed to assist in helping to save someone's life.
"A huge thank you to Taylor Wimpey for the donation of one of the defibs and to John Anderson, in loving memory of his wife Iris, for the other.
"Also thank you to the public and various local businesses who donated to help purchase the heated cabinets so that the equipment is kept safe and out of the elements.
"Further details on public training courses will appear online very soon, so please keep your eyes peeled on our Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/groups/BothwellUddingstonBusiness."
A third defibrillator is set to be installed at Bothwell Parish Church over the coming weeks which has been kindly donated by 2nd Uddingston Scout Group in partnership with Scottish Gas and Rotary Club of Bothwell and Uddingston.
Anyone wishing to donate for a further two defibrillators for the area can do so via the group's Facebook page.
