Rescuers have warned Loch Lomond users to wear lifejackets, after four people were pulled from a capsized boat.
Fire crews, police and the Loch Lomond Rescue Boat rushed to Luss at around 11.30am on Saturday (November 20), with four people discovered clinging to an upturned boat near the Fraoch Isle.
All four people were without lifejackets and were treated for hypothermia at the scene.
The lucky escape comes in a year where four people have already lost their lives in the Loch.
In July, 16-year-old Connor Markward from Glasgow drowned after getting into difficulty in the Loch whilst enjoying the good weather.
The following day, Edina Olahova, 29, and her nine-year-old son Rana Haris Ali died alongside their friend Mohammad Asim Raza, 41, close to Pulpit Rock at Ardlui.
A Loch Lomond Rescue Boat statement said: “At 11.32am on Saturday November 20 LLRB were paged by Police Scotland after reports of a capsized vessel with four persons without life jackets clinging to the upturned vessel.
“LLRB launched and made way to the reported area just off the mainland at Fraoch Isle.
“Once located, the crew assessed the casualties and treated them for hypothermia, transporting the casualties back to base at Luss and handing over to the Scottish Ambulance Service.
“LLRB returned to the site to transport Police Scotland Officers back to Luss. LLRB then stood down and returned to base at 12:35pm.
“Thank you to all emergency services involved and great teamwork from the crew once again.
“Could we ask that if you are sailing on Loch Lomond or any water please wear a life jacket.”
A Police Scotland spokesperson added: “We received report of men in difficulty in the water at Loch Lomond near Luss around 11.30am on Saturday, November 20.
“Emergency services attended the scene of the incident and the men were rescued from the water.
“They were treated by paramedics at the scene.”
