Visitors to the National Justice Museum in Nottingham’s Lace Market will notice a new arrival at the venue this month.
'Hope' the Lego suffragette was built by UK Parliament to mark 100 years after the first women gained the right to vote in Britain.
The life-size model is touring the country in celebration of this milestone, and will be at the National Justice Museum throughout October.
Hope was named by a public vote. It took three people 171 hours to build her. She is made from more than 30,000 bricks and is 170cm tall.
A spokesman National Justice Museum, in High Pavement, said: "This statue reflects the museum’s programming theme of women, which runs throughout 2019.
"Visitors are encouraged to visit Hope in the museum’s reception for a closer look, and to share a selfie with her on social media @justicemuseum using the hashtag #HelloHope.
"As part of the museum’s half-term activities, there will be two free Lego workshops, where visitors can drop in to meet the museum objects and create Lego versions. The ‘Make it Yours’ workshops run on Friday October 25 and Friday November 1 from 10am - 12.30pm."
Hope the Lego suffragette will be at the National Justice Museum until 31 October.
