Life after Love Island: What brand deals could be coming after Dami Hope and Jack Keating

Each year the Love Islanders leave the villa as new celebrities, and brands fight to get to them to be the newest faces of their campaigns.

It’s a rite of passage that you go on Love Island then secure the bag through clothing lines, Instagram ads and whatever else you can put your name to which offers money in return.

The 2022 cast will be no different – with post Love Island brand deals expected to be thrown at them from all over the place.

Ronan Keating’s son Jack could see an immediate brand deal being done with a sunglasses company.

The Dubliner is already flogging London based Essntl Frames while on this year’s series and with all the promotion he gives them, it could see him land a big deal with them when he leaves the villa.

And microbiologist Dami Hope could land a huge deal with a footwear or t-shirt brand after viewers have noticed his style in the villa.

The Dublin-based scientist is believed to earn around €36,683 a year in his job back home "specialising in conducting studies and research, focusing on micro-organisms".

But with over 163,000 followers on Instagram, he can expect to earn a lot more when he leaves the show.

Love Island exposure has been good to our previous Irish contestants.

Maura Higgins became a millionaire overnight after she landed a mega deal with Ann Summers in 2020.

The Longford beauty reportedly bagged £500,000 from both clothing brand Boohoo and the lingerie giant, plus £250k from tan company Bellamianta and another £150k for appearance on ITV series Dancing on Ice.

She can also earn up to 10k a week through Instagram endorsements.

Greg O’Shea could’ve earned a lot more – but chose to focus on his rugby 7’s career with the Olympics instead after winning Love Island and bagging the £50K.

He told The Times that he's making “nowhere near as much money” as he should have after winning Love Island with Amber Gill.

“Most of my pay came from brand deals and ambassadorships with companies", Greg explained. "I’m in no way near as much money as I should have had coming off the back of Love Island, but I made a choice to come back to sport; I’m happy with that choice.

“I’ve been broke the whole time,” he previously revealed. “Sevens rugby was my daytime job until I retired after the Olympics. We get paid below minimum wage. The top fellas are on 18 grand a year, and you’re training full time.

“For most of us, our families had to take us back in and help us live so that we could get to the Olympics.”

While Greg did say that he earned between €60-100k last year, he admitted that the brand deals off the back of winning Love Island was where the sum came from.

“I went on Love Island, and I won that big chunk of money. I got brand deals on the back of it', he explained. “I got a few big ambassadorships, and I’ve gotten money from them, but I’m still petrified of having no money. I even have my Love Island money sitting in a savings account.”

And series five contestant Yewande Biala never went back to her job as an oncology vaccine specialist.

Now she works as an influencer, creating content with brands such as Missguided and Boux Avenue and lives in London.

And she is about to release her first book, Reclaiming on July 14.
