Liel Abada on his Celtic eye opener before Midtjylland clash as winger hits ground running in Glasgow

Instant Celtic hit Liel Abada insists it started to sink in what a massive club he'd joined when he stepped off the bus at Parkhead to make his competitive debut.

Abada was a surprise inclusion to face Midtjylland in the Champions League qualifier on Tuesday evening and the Israeli winger struck first, tucking away a rebound from Ryan Christie's saved effort.

Having only joined from Maccabi Petah Tivka six days earlier, the winger was overjoyed and grateful to manager Ange Postecoglou in equal measure.

And some video analysis sessions before the home first leg would prove fruitful as he hit the ground running in his new home, though the tie would finish 1-1 and is finely poised for the return game in Denmark next week.

Abada told the club's website: "It was an unbelievable feeling to start on such a big occasion in front of the fans for Champions League qualification.

"I gained so much confidence from the manager and my team-mates. Being given that opportunity showed me that they fully trusted me.

"The training sessions I had with the team really helped me get to know the players, the manager and what the manager wants from me. It gave me an understanding of the expectations around the club.

"I had a few video sessions with the coaching staff and that really helped me understand the role they wanted me to play.

"When I arrived at Celtic Park on the bus, I was in shock with all the fans outside waiting to support us as we stepped off the bus. That was a new experience for me and I hope to make the fans proud."
