Lidl warns Portmarnock shoppers to beware as gang of duckin' chancers spotted casing the joint

Shoppers in the Portmarnock branch of Lidl were today surprised to find a bunch of dodgy-looking birds hanging around the store.

An eagle-eyed shopper spotted the feather-covered group of intruders strutting around outside the shop and quickly took to social media to spread the word.

They tweeted: "Just some ducks heading into lidl_ireland In Portmarnock."

After spotting the story, Lidl themselves swooped in quickly to reassure shoppers that they were nothing but a bunch of duckin' chancers.

They tweeted: "Please be aware we have had reports of a notorious group of small, feathered shoplifters operating in the Portmarnock area.

"These guys seem to... fit the bill."

We hope they ducked back out of the shop before causing any trouble - because these little guys are a serious flight risk.
