Supermarket giant Lidl has released a new £1.69 snack, and shoppers are saying it tastes 'the same' as McDonald's.
Lidl's boxes of 12 nuggets and dip went viral on Facebook after one shopper discovered them in their local Lidl supermarket.
The product was shared on the Snack News and Reviews Facebook page, which wrote: "Lidl do Chicken Nuggets & Dip! Just £1.69!"
The post quickly spread like wildfire, and has now racked up a whopping 16,000 comments, 7,100 shares and 1,700 likes.
"Will have to try them," said one person.
Another wrote: "Have to stock up for all grand kids."
"Bought these today for louis they taste like mcdonalds nuggets," said another happy shopper.
A fourth wrote: "I need to get to a Lidl."
Somebody else asked how they compare to McDonald's nuggets, and one shopper replied: "Have had them before the taste the same."
Others aren't so convinced, though, and have been put off by the product description.
The front of the box reads: "Made from chopped and formed chicken meat, with 8% liquid seasoning, cooked, breaded, fried, deep frozen."
"The term ‘chopped and formed chicken meat’ concerns me," said one person.
Another wrote: "Why would you put the facted its formed meat on the front of the box. Automatic put off rather it be on back of box where I don't look."
To be honest guys, if you didn't know that's how nuggets are made, it's probably time to get on Google. It's not exactly a secret.
Boxes of 12 cost £1.69 and are available in Lidl stores now.
