Lidl shoppers face huge queues in desperate hunt for air conditioning units amid scorching heatwave

  • Britain is experiencing a severe heatwave , with June temperature records being broken for the second consecutive day on Thursday.

  • One woman shared a video explaining that, despite queuing early, she was unable to buy an air conditioning unit due to high demand.
  • A red warning for extreme heat is in effect for London, South East England, and the East of England, with the Met Office warning of “high humidity, exacerbating the potential for discomfort and health impacts”.
