Lidl shoppers are in stitches over the latest 'middle of Lidl' offer

Since lockdown started, many of us have been exploring new hobbies and trying to perfect our skills for next year's series of Britain's Got Talent.

Supermarket Lidl is helping shoppers with this, as it has released a new 'middle of Lidl' range dedicated to the gift of music. Sounds lovely, doesn't it.

However, one particular product has now gone viral, as shoppers can't quite believe it's being sold in the current lockdown climate.

The product in question?

 A €129.99 TRUMPET. Brilliant.

Lidl is selling wind instruments to entertain you in lockdown (Lidl)

The trumpet first went viral after one bloke spotted it in a store, and posted a picture on Twitter.

He joked: "Lidl not giving a f*** about your neighbours or housemates during isolation."

The picture has since been retweeted and liked thousands of times, and people are loving it.

"The fact that you can buy a flute, clarinet, or trumpet down the middle aisle at Lidl amazes me. Grab yourself a bargain," joked one shopper.

Lidl is also selling an electronic drum kit (Lidl)

"Odd lockdown "gift" from Lidl. Should I get the electronic drum kit or the trumpet?" said somebody else.

A third wrote: "Lidl>aldi for me. You can go in for something basic and come out with a f***ing trumpet. Aldi wouldn’t have the nerve."

"Just off to LIDL to buy my essential trumpet," said yet another amused shopper.

The bargains don't stop there though, oh no. Clearly, it would seem, Lidl is keen for us all to treat our neighbours to the full orchestral experience, so it's selling a whole range of musical instruments.

A personal favourite of mine is the electronic drum kit, priced at €59.99, which is sure to entertain the whole family for days on end.

For the less musically-able, there's a harmonica, priced at €4.99 - an absolute steal I'm sure we can all agree.

Then there's a ukelele, a keyboard, and a guitar. What a time to be alive.

It looks like the products are currently only available in Lidl Ireland, so UK customers won't be able to take a trip there to buy one at the moment.

But of course, joking aside, these aren't really essentials, so if you are in Ireland and planning on trying to get your hands on them, you should only do so as part of your essential shop.

And if you do decide to try and become a better trumpeter than Sonia Fowler, be mindful of your neighbours and housemates, and try not to annoy them too much.
