Lidl shoppers all have the same complaint about its new discount app

Disappointed shoppers all have the same complaint about Lidl’s new loyalty scheme.

Budget retailer Lidl launched its new reward app earlier this month, offering shoppers deals, scratchcards and other rewards.

Lidl Plus offers rewards to customers each time it is scanned at the checkout and is set to rival the likes of Sainsbury’s Nectar Card and Tesco Clubcard.

Now, just two weeks after the app launched, shoppers are complaining that it is not working properly and that they are missing out on rewards because of this.

Commenting beneath Lidl’s pinned post on Facebook, one shopper wrote: “I have downloaded the app, the last time I have tried to use it the scanning did not work and today it worked but due to connectivity issues it does not show up in my history. I am now missing out on the rewards now, having spent £100 within a week?”

Another person added: “I did my two week shopping today in my local Lidl and at the checkout I have find out “ Lidl plus “doesn’t work I have spent £147. Not happy at all”.

A third said: “I downloaded this and went to shop but when it came to scanning barcode it didn't work, disappointing as spent more than wanted as expected it to work.”

Lidl declined to comment when contacted by the ECHO.
