Lidl set to unveil best ever 'Scottish Larder' products collection

Supermarket chain Lidl is pulling out all the stops this year to celebrate Scottish Food and Drink Fortnight with plans to unveil its biggest ever Scottish Larder in-store promotion.

A two week celebration of Scotland’s diverse and growing food and drink scene, Scottish Larder fortnight will see some of the nation's best producers put on show.

From an Edinburgh-based coffee manufacturer specialising in roast coffee to a vegan pea snack producer from Perthshire, the chain says shoppers will be able to pick up some of the country's best produce.

The Lidl team confirmed there will be a host of traditional Scottish flavours with a twist will be available including Haggis Pizza (£2.29), from family-run Edinburgh pizza makers Cosmo’s, and tasty rhubarb &a strawberry dairy ice cream from Aberdeenshire ice cream maker Mackie’s.

Scotland’s world-renowned seafood will also line the shelves, with Scotch Reserve Scottish Oak-Smoked Salmon (£2.99) from Dumfries-based smokehouse, St James, set to take centre stage.

The Scottish Larder event features other well-known family favourites including Tunnocks, Stoats, Lee’s and Simon Howie.

Available at Lidl’s 103 Scottish stores while stocks last, the Scottish Larder fortnight kicks off on 3rd September - the full range of products can be viewed here.

Paul McQuade, head of buying in Scotland, stated that they are delighted to continue to support Scottish producers, he said: “The latest Lidl Scottish Larder event champions the unique flavours Scotland has to offer, with a great mix of firm family favourites but also showcasing many new suppliers for the first time.

"At Lidl, we have a long-standing commitment to Scotland’s food and drink industry, with over 400 Scottish products in stores all year-round, and promotions like this additionally enable us to work with new suppliers across a breadth of product ranges.”
