Lidl has published a list of where it is most interested in opening new stores, including multiple locations in Edinburgh.
Portobello, Oxgangs, Newington and the city centre are among the areas the German supermarket is keen to build new shops as part of its £1.3 billion investment in store expansion over the next two years.
Many of the new stores will feature electric vehicle charging ports and solar panels to provide power for the buildings.
The new branches will also join the company's food redistribution programme Feed It Back, which donates surplus food to local food banks and charities.
The purpose of publishing the list is to attract landowners in the areas of interest.

Lidl’s Regional Director for Scotland Ross Millar, said: “We want to continue to reach more shoppers across Scotland and our site requirements brochure is a testament of that.
“There are towns that will be new for Lidl and in some places, the potential to even double our sites.
"Each new store will have quality food and drink at great prices including produce from over 60 Scottish suppliers.
“We look forward to opening new stores in the coming months and years and becoming part of local communities.”
