Lidl removes baby food pouches due to 'possible presence of mould' in urgent recall

Lidl has issued an urgent recall on a range of Lupilu baby food pouches due to the "possible presence of mould".

The Food Standards Agency (FSA) said the possible presence of mould makes the products "unsafe to eat". However, no other Lupilu products have been affected, reports Surrey Live.

Customers who have bought Lupilu baby food pouches should return them to the Lidl store they purchased it from for a full refund.

The items which have been recalled are listed below:

  • All variants of Lupilu Organic Baby Fruit Pouches, Stage 1 (120g)
  • All variants of Lupilu Organic Baby Fruit & Veg Pouches, Stage 1 (120g)
  • All variants of Lupilu Organic Baby Apple Pouches, Stage 1 (5 x 90g packs)
  • All variants of Lupilu Organic Baby Breakfast Pouches, Stage 2 (100g)

Advice issued by the FSA reads: "If you have bought any of the above products do not eat it. Instead, return it to the store from where it was bought for a full refund."

It adds: "Lidl GB wishes to apologise for any inconvenience caused."
