Lidl recalls popular snack food from shelves as customers warned 'do not eat'

Lidl has issued an urgent warning to shoppers who have bought a popular snack from its stores recently, as it may contain an undeclared allergen.

The budget-friendly supermarket has recalled one of its types of crisps from shop shelves amid fears it could pose a risk to anyone who suffers from a milk intolerance or allergy.

This is because of a 'mis-pack' when preparing the product to be sold, and Lidl has said that anyone who has purchased the snack can take it back to any store and receive a full refund

The product which has been recalled is the Snaktastic Chilli Heatwave Tortilla Chips, which do not have milk listed on the label. They said the affected packets may contain Tangy Cheese flavour Tortilla Chips, Manchester Evening News reports.

This means the snack is a possible health risk for anyone with an allergy or intolerance to milk or milk constituents.

The full product details can be found below:

Product code T4B 3142
Pack size 200g
Batch code T4B 3142
Best before 22 October 2023
Allergens Milk

No other Snaktastic products in Lidl GB stores have been affected by this recall, the supermarket has said.

If you've bought this product, and have an allergy or an intolerance to milk, it's advised that you do not eat it and instead return it to your nearest Lidl store where a full refund will be given.

Lidl has apologised for any inconvenience that this may have caused, and shoppers can email Customer Services at customer.services@lidl.co.uk or give them a call on 0203 966 5566 if they have any questions or concerns.
