Lidl opening THREE new stores in and around Greater Manchester on the same day

Three new Lidl supermarkets are to open in and around Greater Manchester on the same day next week.

The stores in Cheetham Hill and Bolton will open their doors to customers on Thursday, February 25.

A third new store is Glossop will also begin trading on the same day.

It's part of the company's £1.3bn expansion programme across Great Britain in 2021 and 2022.

The three stores, on Manchester Road in Bolton, at Cheetham Hill retail park and on Mill Street in Glossop, will create about 120 jobs.

Lidl said the stores will give surplus food and customer donations to local charities including Manchester Young Community Champions, Believe & Achieve C.I.C, Farnworth & Kearsley Events Team, and Lagan's Foundation.

Nick Harvey, Lidl GB’s regional head of property, said: "It is fantastic that at this time we are able to continue our investment in Greater Manchester and enable even more of the local community access to our high quality and affordable produce.

"I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who has played a part in delivering these stores.

"It is great for us to be able to create more jobs for these areas, and support so many fantastic charities at this time."
