Lidl makes urgent air fryer recall warning – 'Stop using immediately'

Shoppers are being urged to immediately stop using a specific air fryer - amid fears they could burst into flames.

Supermarket giant Lidl is urging customers to immediately stop using an air fryer that they had been selling, after being made aware of issues of the item “overheating”.

The stores say any customer who had bought one of the items should return it to store for a refund and issued a “stop use” warning.

The supermarket has recalled the T17129L Tower 8Ltr Dual Basket Air Fryer and said: "Our supplier is recalling the above-mentioned product due to risk of overheating, which could present a fire hazard,” adding: "If you own one of the affected models, please stop using it immediately."

The affected batch is said to be specifically applicable to "all stock of T17129L".

They added in the statement: "No other Tower products in Lidl GB stores are affected by this recall."

Customers are being asked to contact the supplier directly at www.tower-safety.co.uk to check if their unit is affected and follow the instructions for returning it if it is.

They also added they would refund customers in store if they are impacted.

As well as the air fryer, the retailer has issued another set of recall notices for other items.

Harvest Basket Hash Browns of stock with a batch number of 5144L and Best Before date of May 24 2027 should also be returned.

They said: "Lidl GB is recalling the above-mentioned product due to the potential presence of foreign bodies (metal) which may present a choking hazard.

“We apologise for any inconvenience caused and thank you for your cooperation."

If you've bought this product, Lidl urge you not to eat it. Instead,return it to the store where customers will be given a "full refund."

The store’s Alesto Raw Fruit and Nut Bars Assorted, 5 x 35g should also be returned.

All snack bars with Best Before Date Dec 2025 with batch code L24337 and Best Before Date Nov 2025 with batch code L24316 should be returned because of “plastic foreign bodies.”

The retailer said: "Lidl GB is recalling the above-mentioned product due to due to potential presence of plastic foreign bodies which may present a choking hazard. No other Alesto products in Lidl GB stores are affected by this recall."

“If you have bought the above product, "we advise you not to eat it. We urge people to take the product back to the store for a "full refund."
