Lidl launches Black Friday deals - including a Prosecco magnum for £10.99

Lidl has launched its hotly-awaited Black Friday discounts - including a magnum of Prosecco for £10.99.

Today the discount supermarket will be selling its Allini Prosecco Spumante magnum for £10.99.

The bottle is 150ml - that's twice the standard wine bottle size of 750ml and gives you around 12 flutes of Prosecco.

The fizzy booze is 10.5%, and is reduced from its normal price of £12.99.

Lidl master of wine Richard Bampfield said the fizz was "lovely and light, with a moreish pear-scented quality".

It is also selling a dry-aged tomahawk steak for £14.99 per kilo.

The supermarket will also be selling a Tower four-litre air fryer for £29.99 - a £10 discount.

The air fryer uses little oil when cooking, which helps create healthier meals.

Lidl is also selling a Chromebook Flip laptop with an 11.6" screen for £149.99 - down from £339.99.

An Emma original King-size mattress will go on sale for £329, a huge discount on its original £799.

A single version of the same mattress is on offer for £199, down from £499.

Lidl’s Black Friday products arrive in stores from November 26 and will be available while stocks last.

Earlier this week The Mirror reported Lidl had announced plans to open hundreds more stores across the UK over the next four years after revenues in the last year jumped to almost £8billion.

The German grocer said it plans to take its 880 UK store count to 1,100 by 2025, having already opened 55 new outlets at the start of this year.

In total, the grocer will open 220 new supermarkets - a move it estimates will bring around 4,000 job opportunities to local towns and cities.

It comes as the grocer published its accounts filed with Companies House for the 12 months to the end of February showing revenues jumped 12% to £7.7billion and it turned a pre-tax profit of £9.8million, compared to a £25million loss a year earlier.

However, Lidl has also warned it is facing its toughest ever Christmas .

Boss Christian Hartnagel told the Mirror: “It is much more work to deliver this Christmas than it has ever been.

“I have been in this industry for 20 years but it is unprecedented what we are facing at the moment.”

Mr Hartnagel, chief executive of Lidl GB, said like all retailers it was facing higher inflation, but vowed to keep prices rises “at the absolute minimum.”

He added that the risk of product shortages had eased in recent weeks.

The discounter, with 880 branches now, is opening a new store at a rate of one a week.

Lidl earlier this week published accounts revealing sales jumped 12% to £7.7billion in the year to the end of February.

Its £9.8million profit - up from a £25.2m loss a year ago - would have been more had it not repaid more than £100million business rate relief.
