When it comes to picking our favourite cuisine, France and its beautifully sweet, creamy, garlicy treats is right up there.
And now it's cheaper than ever, as discount supermarket Lidl is about to launch French week - and it includes all the key classics from across the channel.
However our favourite item of the lot has to big a 500g wheel of Brie, which Lidl is selling for just £2.69.
Usually a similar price for a 200g portion, the cheapest price for a 500g wheel of Brie elsewhere will set you back £9.50.
Arriving in Lidl stores all across the country tomorrow (Thursday 4th July), the big but bargainous Brie is joined by a plethora of other French foods, including pastries, puddings, croque monsieurs, madelines and macarons. Who needs a holiday?
Prices start at 99p, with the cheapest item of the lot being a 1kg bag of Pommes Noisettes - essentially mashed potato in a crispy coating that's very similar to a hash brown but in little balls, with a creamy soft, fluffy texture on the inside and a beautifully crispy exterior. While McCain used to sell them, you've not been able to buy them in Britain for a long time.
Another steal is Lidl's pack of 12 macarons for £2.49 - the cheapest of the lot by far, with Tesco coming the closest second for a six pack of the famously fancy biscuits for £3 , while Waitrose have 12 for £5.50.
However, while we can't comment on the taste and quality, Asda has out-done them on the price of the cheapest camembert, with Lidl's setting you back £1.49 for a 250g pack, and Asda's £1.15 , also for a 250g pack.
If you have a sweet tooth, there's some seriously good puddings up for grabs too, such as creme brulee ice cream for £1.99, profiteroles for £2.29 and of course, a dry white wine for £4.99 to wash it all down with.
