Lidl launch 25% off six bottles of wine deal to to celebrate 25th birthday

Budget supermarket Lidl has slashed the price of wines in its latest deal, rivalling similar offers from Asda, Tesco and Sainsbury's.

The low cost chain is celebrating its 25th birthday by giving shoppers 25% off wines when they buy any six or more bottles between 4 and 10 July.

Customers can mix and match different varieties in the offer, choosing from any of the retailer's 130 bottles which include some award-winning tipples from around the world.

The retailer's entire core collection is included, as well as wines featured in the retailer's premium summer wine tour range.

The special offer is great for anyone hosting a party or barbecue over the coming weeks, and with bottles starting from £3.58 (for the the Conde Noble, Spanish Rosé), filling up the wine rack won't put a major dent in your bank balance either.

Both the bubbly Comte de Senneval Champagne Brut (£11.49) and the refreshing Nicoleta Organic Grenache Rosé (£4.99) are included in the deal, along with a list of other top picks but only while stocks last.

But Lidl isn't the only retailer offering major discounts on booze. Some of the big four supermarket chains are also slashing prices right now too.

Both Tesco and Asda have 25% off six bottles of red and white wines, which also includes premium branded champagne from Moet & Chandon, Tattinger and Lanson and popular sparkling wine varieties.

Sainsbury's also ran a similar deal, which has now ended that also included some top wine and champagne brands. But shoppers can still pick up price cuts on thousands of items including beer, wine, burgers and strawberries as the supermarket giant looks to entice more customers into store over the summer months.

Speaking about the move Sainsbury's Chief executive Mike Coupe said: "We reduced prices on over 1,000 every day food and grocery products and improved our relative performance.

"In May, we celebrated Sainsbury's 150th birthday. Our focus on giving customers high quality products at good value remains as true today as it was 150 years ago."
