Lidl is selling mince pie strudel for Christmas - and it's only £2.99

Nothing says Christmas quite like a festive mince pie, filled with sweet mincemeat and topped with a dust of icing sugar.

But if you fancy trying something a little different, then you might want to head over to Lidl .

That's because the budget supermarket chain has added a mince pie strudel to its popular deluxe range - and shoppers are loving it.

Providing six servings, the Deluxe Mince Pie Strudel is a twist on the festive classic and is priced at just £2.99.

It's created from a light and buttery pastry, which is packed with a Christmassy combination of Bramley apple, currants, sultanas and citrus peel.

The frozen treat isn't available online, but Lidl has over 760 stores in the UK where you can pick one up.

We'd advise buying soon, though, as it won't be restocked once it's gone.

The budget supermarket is also selling a new violet and blackberry flavoured gin in time for the Christmas season.

If you're looking for other alternatives to mince pies, Hotel Chocolat has a delicious selection of festive fancies (£8) that include chocolate truffles and caramel pralines.

For traditionalists, Waitrose's All Butter Mince Pies come in at £2.50 and boast a wonderfully festive snowflake design.

Meanwhile, Baileys new Red Velvet drink is hitting the UK for first time ever - but only from one retailer.
