Lidl is selling a hot air fryer for £39.99 in stores this week

From mozzarella sticks, to fried chicken, to crispy chips, when it comes to fried food, it's hard to pick a favourite. The only downside? The sheer quantities of oil that go into each unctuous delicacy.

But it seems Lidl has answered our hungry prayers, with the famously cheap supermarket about to start selling a special hot air fryer that cooks food as if it's been fried - but minus any oil - for just £39.99.

Launching in stores this Thursday (27th June), the handy gadget fries the likes of potatoes, chicken, breaded mozzarella and pretty much anything else, without needing any oil or fat, instead using hot air to cook food and create a beautifully crispy edge.

Holding 2.6 litres and made by Silvercrest, when we tried to find the same gadget on the internet, it seems that the only place to get a Silvercrest hot air fryer is eBay, where they're currently selling for £50+ , such as this smaller, 2.3l version for £56.90.

If you've never used a hot air fryer before, they're very popular amongst Slimming World-ers, who use them to create famous fried foods such as chips but without any of the oil.

They're also handy for cooking meat straight from the freezer, meaning if you forget to take your pork chops out the freezer the night before, you can still make tonight's dinner.

But a hot air fryer isn't the only gadget up for sale at Lidl this week, with the affordable supermarket also launching a bubble waffle maker for £11.99, as well as a doughnut maker for the same price.

Sadly, being launched in the Middle of Lidl means there's limited stock, so if you do want to get your hands on any of Lidl's new kitchen gadgets, you will need to be quick and head in store from this Thursday 27th onwards.
