Lidl is named cheapest supermarket for second month

Lidl has been named the cheapest supermarket in March, the second month in a row that it has received the accolade, according to the latest monthly analysis from Which?.

Which? compared prices for a trolley of 20 items every day throughout March and found that on average, shoppers would have paid £22.48 at Lidl, beating the big four and Aldi to the accolade. Products checked included own-brand products such as apples, eggs and tomatoes, as well as branded goods such as Hovis wholemeal bread, to see how UK supermarkets compared.

It follows the news announced by Which? earlier this year that Lidl was the Cheapest Supermarket in 2020.
