Lidl Ireland urgently recalling coffee machine due to electric shock fears

Lidl Ireland has recalled one of its coffee machines due to fears it may give people electric shocks.

Consumers are being told to stop using the affected coffee maker immediately.

An estimated 976 units of the Slivercrest Espresso Machine were sold in Ireland between May 16 and June 19.

A statement from the Competition and Consumer Protection Commission said: "Lidl Ireland GMBH is carrying out a voluntary recall of Slivercrest Espresso Machine.

"The safety concern identified is a risk of electric shock when using the product.

"Approximately 976 units have been sold in the Republic of Ireland."

The affected Slivercrest Espresso Machine SEMS 1100 A1 has an International Item number (IAN) of 313486.

The CCPC added: "If you believe you have this product then you should stop using it immediately and please return the product to your local Lidl store for full refund."
