Lidl Ireland customers could win entire Christmas shopping for just €1

Customers of Lidl stores across the country are in for a chance to bag their entire Christmas shop for just €1 as part of the chain’s Annual Trolley Dash fundraiser.

Lidl shoppers can purchase a €1 ticket to be entered into a ‘Supermarket Sweep’ style dash around their Lidl store, filling their trolley with as much of their Christmas shopping as they can in 2 minutes.

Previous winners who scrambled through the shops managed to take home hundreds of euro worth of groceries.

This year marks the seventh Lidl Trolley Dash. Since the first launch, the fundraiser has raised over €1.7 million for charity.

Lidl Ireland’s Head of Corporate Social Responsibility, Owen Keogh said shoppers who enter are in a “win-win situation.”

The entirety of the proceeds of this year's Trolley Dash tickets will be donated to Lidl’s charity partner, Jigsaw, an Irish mental health charity for young people across the country.

“You are not just helping a vital service, you could be the lucky shopper to have the chance to win their entire Christmas food shop,” said Keogh.

Irish telly presenter Brian Dowling has been promoting the fundraiser and said he is “delighted to be involved” in the launching of this year’s Lidl Trolley Dash.

“Who wouldn’t jump at the chance to dash down the aisles of an empty supermarket scrambling for everything they can in two minutes?,” he said.

“The Trolley Dash is such fun and a great way to support young people’s mental health charity Jigsaw.”

One winner will be picked in each Irish Lidl store. From Dingle to Donegal, Lidl shoppers across the country can enter to take part when tickets go on sale from Saturday 13 November.
