Lidl has brought back churros - they're delicious and really easy to make

For anybody who hasn't tried churros before, they're basically like delicious crispy doughnuts you can dip in chocolate - keen?

Most people usually get their churros either on holiday in Spain, where they originate, or at market stalls but there's now an easy way to get them in the comfort on your own home.

Supermarket favourite Lidl has brought back its best-selling churros for only £1.19.

Lidl’s churros come pre-cooked in a 500g bag so shoppers can heat them up in no time and serve alongside an indulgent homemade dip of melted chocolate, toffee sauce or hazelnut spread.

The churros are in store as part of Lidl’s Spanish week which is a celebration of all things España and gives Brits the chance to create tasty tapas in their very own casa.

Other things available during Spanish week are 1.1kg of air dried ham with a knife and cutting board for just £14.99, a Spanish cheese board and Spanish tapas meat platter both costing just £1.99 and Gazpacho for £1.49.

And, as no Spanish feast is complete without wine, why not try the pick of the Spanish wines from Lidl's core range, available all year round. Highlights include:

  • Mezquiriz Navarra Rosé, £3.99 - The Navarra region neighbours Rioja and has carved out a highly successful niche  as a specialist producer of rosado (rosé) wine. This wine is fresh, juicy and appetising with redcurrant and cherry fruit flavours.
  • Cepa Lebrel Rioja Joven, £4.99 - If you ever wondered what Rioja tastes like when not aged in oak barrels, this is your chance! Fruity and refreshing, the bright black plum aromas make this wine juicy and appetising.
  • Abellio Albariño Rias Baixas, £5.99 - From the beautiful region of Galicia in north-west Spain, Albariño is one of the exciting new breeds of Spanish dry whites - so well worth a try. It’s textured, fresh, rounded - dry and not too sharp.

The range is available from tomorrow (August 8) while stocks last.
