Lidl customers warned over product as it is urgently recalled

Lidl has issued an urgent recall on a food product due to concerns that a harmful object have fallen into the packets.

The supermarket group has advised that the 125g packets of Simply Roasted and Salted Cashews with a ‘best before’ date of June 28 2026 are not safe to eat. Customers who bought the product can return it for a full refund.

The Food Standards Agency (FSA) who implemented the recall said that there were concerns about glass in the product.

The FSA said: "If you have bought the above product do not consume it.

"Instead, return it to the store from where it was bought for a full refund.

"For further information, please contact Lidl Customer Care on customer.care@lidl.co.uk or 0203 966 5566”.

Lidl said: "We apologise for any inconvenience caused and thank you for your cooperation".

The recall comes just days after the supermarket giant announced it was recalling its XXL Sondey Stroopwaffel with Caramel Flavour Filling & Butter after it was discovered that the product may contain small metal fragments.

In a statement, a Lidl spokesman said: “Lidl GB is recalling the above-mentioned product due to the potential presence of metal foreign bodies, which may present a risk of injury.

“We advise you not to eat it.

“Customers are asked to return this product to the nearest store where a full refund will be given. We apologise for any inconvenience caused.”
