A post to fans on Facebook said: “Over the past couple of months, we’ve all had to make Lidl changes in the way that we shop. We want to reiterate that the health of our customers and staff is our top priority.”
Here’s what Lidl confirmed its safety measures and rules to be:
- Face coverings are mandatory
- Cleaning stations are available for customers to sanitise their hands and baskets or trolleys
- Lidl asks that shoppers only buy what they need - stores are being replenished every day
- When possible, shoppers are asked to use contactless or card payments
In a second post, Lidl implored shoppers to shop alone if they can in order to reduce the number of people in store and to help maintain social distancing.
The message read: “Lidlers! Shopping on your own can help make a big difference.
“When you’re in our stores, please shop alone if you can to reduce the number of people in store and help maintain social distancing.”
To help shoppers avoid busy times where more people may be in store, Lidl has also shared its quietest - and busiest - times to shop.
According to Lidl, stores are busy between 8am and 11am, while from 11am - 2pm it is ‘average’, and from 2pm until closing time it is quiet.
Shoppers are encouraged to check their local store opening hours online.
