Lidl has confirmed that its new Bristol supermarket will open later this month.
The store in Aldermoor Lane, Longwell Green has been a long time coming and was initially due to open early in the summer.
The property, formerly a Homebase, has been converted into two new units to accommodate Lidl and Smyths Toys.
This forms part of the German supermarket chain's ongoing expansion and regeneration plans across the UK, and has created around 40 new jobs.
There will be an in-store bakery at the shop as well as a customer toilet with baby changing facilities.
It will open its doors for the first time at 8am on October 29.
Lidl GB’s regional head of property, Glen Stidever, said: "We would like to thank all those who have played a part in bringing this new Lidl store to Longwell Green.
"It is great for us to be able to create more jobs and investment opportunities in the area, and we can’t wait to start serving our multi-award winning products to the local community."
During the first week of opening customers will be able to find exclusive deals and offers on selected products including a Silvercrest Espresso Machine, a Singer 2282 Tradition Sewing Machine and a Toshiba 43” Full HD Smart TV.
Lidl also has a range of social distancing measures to help maintain a safe environment for colleagues and customers.
These include floor markings, reminding customers to maintaining a two-metre distance from each other when shopping, regular tannoy announcements and the compulsory wearing of face masks.
The supermarket has also installed protective screens at checkouts and protective visors and masks are available for colleagues to wear.
The new supermarket on Aldermoor Lane in Longwell Green opens on Thursday, October 29 at 8am.
