The month marks the return of "non-essential" shopping as government restrictions are eased. Later this month, the return of retailers such as Penneys will begin.
Following the government's announcement, the return of 'middle aisle products from the likes of Aldi and Lidl will also begin in the coming weeks.
Both supermarket chains were forced to restrict the supply and sale of these special products since the government’s restrictions on the new Level 5 lockdown came into effect on December 31, 2020.
The reintroduced middle aisle will see the retails begin a major push on garden and outdoor products, with Aldi offering gardenline mosaic bistro sets from €79.99.
Other summer-orientated products include the natural wooden wishing well planter at €29.99, and the Scheppach Petrol Pressure Washer for €249.99.
For DIY projects, Aldi will have the Ferrex 1500W SDS Rotary Hammer Drill at €49.99, the Ferrex Electric Grass Trimmer from €28.99 and the Workzone Mirte Box and Saw for €6.99.
For indoor projects, the Workzoone Neon Adhesive tape is available for €3.99 in five different colours, with The Pink Stuff disinfectant spray, stain remover spray and toiled cleaner all available for €1.99 each.
Lidl is seeing products that would have been available earlier in the year under normal circumstances, postponed to the middle aisle.
The supermarket is looking to bring back the Bee & Insect Hotel, pressure washers, petrol lawnmowers, petrol grass trimmer, grass & hedge trimmer, electric hedge trimmer and reading Glasses and sunglasses for May 2021.
Also emphasising garden assortment products, Lidl has decorative solar lights, parasol bases and citronella candles postponed on delivery to its stores nationwide.
Indoor products that will the store intend to provide to customers include vinyl tablecloths, Renforcé reversible bedlinen, Breville Impressions brand kettles and toasters, food storage containers, non-slip trays, extendable sieves and citrus juicers for the kitchen.
