Lidgate fire: Two dead after 'multiple explosions' and blaze at Suffolk home

Two people have died following a blaze and reports of "multiple explosions" at a home in Lidgate, Suffolk.

Fire crews and police were scrambled to the scene at a property in The Street shortly after midday on Tuesday.

Suffolk Police said the cause of the explosions were not immediately clear.

A joint fire and police investigation was under way, the force said in statement.

The police statement said: "The building has sustained significant structural damage."

"Utility companies have attended the area to ensure the safety of local residents.

Anyone with information about this incident is asked to contact Suffolk Police on 101 quoting reference CAD 122 of 7 May.
