Lichtsteiner and Kolasinac break Arsenal players' social media silence after Leicester City loss

Sead Kolasinac has said that Arsenal will show an marked improvement on recent displays when they face Valencia in the Europa League semi-final first-leg on Thursday night.

10 days ago the Gunners were favourites to seal a top four spot.

Following a defeat for Tottenham Hotspur away at Manchester City, Unai Emery's side had the chance to move into third place ahead of their London derby against Crystal Palace at the Emirates Stadium.

However, they were beaten 3-2 by the Eagles which kick-started a dismal run of three consecutive defeats which has left their top four hopes hanging by a thread with just two Premier League games remaining.

The latest defeat was an humiliating one at the King Power Stadium at the weekend as the north London outfit capitulated in the second half, conceding three poor goals as Leicester City picked up all three points.

As a result, there's been a hush around the Gunners squad following that defeat but Kolasinac has become one of the first to speak out and he has a message for the supporters.

"The very worst moment of the season to suffer 3 losses in a row," he said on Twitter. "Maximum of points must be the objective for the last 2 (Premier League) matchups.

"No need to say that we have to step up our work for the Valencia games already - but I‘m sure we‘ll do!

"Come On You Gunners!"

Meanwhile, Stephan Lichtsteiner who wasn't even involved against Foxes also had a message for Arsenal supporters.

"Even after a bad week ... we NEVER give up!," he wrote on Twitter .

Speaking after the defeat to Leicester, Arsenal head coach Unai Emery challenged his side to bounce back and regain the winning feeling against Los Che.

"We are going to think about Valencia in the Europa League," he told reporters. "We have a big ambition and motivation in this competition. It's going to be difficult.

"Then we are going to think about Sunday and Brighton."
