License, registration, wedding ring: 'Traffic stop' turns into marriage proposal

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. _ A woman got an unexpected request when Miami Beach police pulled her and boyfriend over.

Carolina Delgado and boyfriend Romain Zago were heading to lunch when they were stopped by Miami Beach police in front of the Miami Beach Marina in the 300 block of Alton Road Friday for some type of traffic infraction.

One of the officers, Elpidio Garcia, told Zago that his license was suspended and he was going to be arrested. Garcia then told her that they were going to give her the opportunity to say goodbye to Zago.

That's when Zago got down on one knee and held out a box with a ring inside.

A surprised Delgago gushed, "You've got to be kidding me, Romain. You don't do that. Seriously? You don't do that."

"I decided to make it special," he told her. "I am out of speech. I don't even know what to say."

She said yes, by the way.

Zago who owns Mynt night club in Miami Beach, and Delgado, an event planner, have been dating for a year, according to his Instagram page.

Miami Beach police shared a video of the proposal on Twitter where it's had more than 25,000 views.
