The New York Public Library reopened its Rose main reading room for the first time in two years on Wednesday 5 October, allowing library visiters to see the results of a $12m upgrade of both the Rose reading room and the Bill Blass public catalog room at the Stephen A Schwarzman Building. With thousands of libraries across the US, we’d like to see your photographs of the ones that you have visited.

Maybe you’d like to pay homage to a local library you visit frequently? Or perhaps you discovered a library with striking architecture on recent travels in America?Whether it’s public, private or university-owned, varying in both design and size, share your photographs and stories of the most interesting libraries in the US you have come across. We’ll feature a selection of your contributions on the site.
