Liberty Poole is discarding sunbeds and sunbathing following skin cancer scare

Love Island’s Liberty Poole has decided to give sunbathing and sunbeds a wide berth following a skin cancer scare.

The 22-year-old, Birmingham-born model, who also appeared on this year’s Dancing On Ice, is having a mole removed that first appeared when she was on Love Island last year.

Such is her worry regarding the suspicious growth, that she will be using fake tan products from now on rather than subject her body to sun or ultra-violet rays.

She told The Sun on Sunday: “I used to go on sunbeds, but then when I came out of Love Island I had this weird mole pop up on my tummy, so I went to the doctor and got the mole checked out. I was worried it could be cancer.

“He doesn’t think it’s cancerous, but says it’s best I get it removed in case it turns into something. Now I don’t think it’s worth the risk and I use fake tan instead, it can be quite dangerous.”

Liberty has also let viewers into some secrets regarding dating game show Love Island, on which she made her name. Since leaving the programme towards the end last year, she has since become the brand ambassador for fashion label InTheStyle, worth around £1million.

The former waitress has also unveiled a lingerie collection with Boux Avenue, while she is said to now be dating a carpenter, despite unfounded rumours of a romance with Dancing One Ice partner Joe Johnson.

“You’ll never hear us singing because you can’t have music in the show for copyright reasons,” she told The Sun. “There was one night where we got a big postcard from Casa Amor and all the girls were stood around and we all started randomly singing Take A Bow’, by Rihanna. The producers told us all to stop it.”

She also revealed that there is a voice projected on speakers across the villa, which is the main centrepiece of the show, that gives instructions like “it is bedtime” or “go to the fire pit”.
