Liberty and Jake quit Love Island just days before final after shock split

It is being reported that Liberty Poole and Jake Cornish have quit Love Island just days before this year's final, although ITV have refused to "comment on any speculation."

On Thursday night millions of viewers and the rest of this year's cast were left in shock when Liberty called time on their relationship, telling Jake she wanted someone that would accept everything about her, including her messiness.

Jake was completely blindsided by Liberty's huge change of heart as were their fellow Islanders, despite the fact that she has voiced concerns about her boyfriend over the past week, saying she thought he was taking her for granted and was doing things "for the TV."

And now it's being reported that, while some Love Island fans think they're already back together, that the pair have in fact walked out of the villa.

A source told MailOnline: "It was a really tough decision for the couple to make, but it felt like the right thing to do.

"They'd given it their all on camera and wanted to let their friends in other couples have a chance at winning.

"Saying goodbye was emotional for all the Islanders, as they've become so close, like family, but it won't be long before they're all reunited.

"It's not 100 per cent over for Jake and Liberty, there are still a lot of feelings involved, so who knows what will happen on the future."

A spokesperson for Love Island told Chronicle Live: "We won't be commenting on speculation around tonight's episode. All will be revealed later."

A teaser for Friday's episode of Love Island saw Liberty and Jake go on a lavish final date on a yacht before coming back into the villa and asking the other Islanders to gather around the fire pit.

As footage played out on screen, the show's narrator Iain Stirling said: "Epic dates lead to epic decisions," fuelling speculation that they had decided to give things another go.
